Our Mission Statement
“Growing mangoes guaranteed to put a smile on your face for more than 50 years.”
Our staff consists of pickers, packers, quality control, and “pick up” sales staff. We contract with local islanders, most of who have been with us for many years. Our staff makes it possible to serve you and keep the orders filled. They are on the front lines of customer satisfaction. Without them, we would just have a bunch of trees with the best hanging fruit with no place to go.
You may ask what I do as an owner? I maintain & coordinate the website, email & phone orders, troubleshoot, marketing & of course, pay the bills, while vigilantly looking for ways to better meet the needs of the customer. I get the most pleasure of seeing & hearing the people rave about the enjoyment they receive from our product, which is so good, and hard to find elsewhere.
Your pleasure…gives me great pleasure, and I thank my Lord daily that he allows me to be the steward of 1000 trees along with the beauty and sweet goodness they produce.
Our customers are from all over the world. The majority came from countries where they grew up with mangoes. They are coming to us because they know through experience, the taste of a great mango.
One of the nicest compliments we receive is when they say ” The Mango Factory’s mangoes are better tasting than the mangoes they grew up with“. Many drive long distances to pick them up fresh. They come to buy mangoes, but I’m fond of saying, they come to “buy memories” because they remember climbing in their own or neighbor’s mango trees as a kid, and they got that wonderfully sweet taste all over their face and indelibly into their minds.
We now have 2nd and 3rd generation buyers because that heritage is being passed down to future mango lovers.
It is sad to say that many Americans have never tasted a good mango, needless to say, a great mango. All they know is the pitiful little examples, the size of your fist, of the imported mangoes. Most were picked 6 weeks before they were mature, drug through a hot water bath, ripened under ethylene gas, and delivered to the grocery store.
Because of the Internet, my Dad would be pleased to know that his mangoes now go out all over the country, putting smiles on the faces of people he would have never met. Be sure to share some of your mangoes with friends and relatives so that your joy can be spread to the uninitiated.
My wife and our 3 children, now adults, their spouses, and 4 grandchildren (now 5), and we enjoy being together even though we are spread all over the world.
Visit us… we have been told it’s like stepping back in time, into “Old Florida”, the way it used to be before everything became so commercialized.
We are not a “fruit stand” that buys from multiple unknown sources or “backyard” growers. You have the confidence in buying directly from a grower that uses “healthy, natural and sustainable” growing
We pride ourselves on growing the best-tasting mangoes on the planet, naturally grown, without pesticides or herbicides, or harmful chemicals.
We are family-owned, second-generation, mango growers, located on tropical Pine Island, Florida. but have a Bokeelia mailing address. We have “Factory” in our name because my dad put it there and it also signifies that our trees consistently, year after year, “manufacture” the “world’s finest fruit.”
Our fruit is unlike anything you will find in a store. Our mangoes have been “taste tested” by people from all over the world that grew up with and know mangoes, and they return to order year after year (many are 2nd & 3rd generation buyers). Others tell us, “they have never liked mangoes” before they tasted our fruit.
Although we are not certified as organic, we have not sprayed or applied any chemicals to our trees in over 20 years. It takes three years of being chemical-free to become certified as organic. We have avoided this expensive yearly certification, to pass on the savings and quality you are looking for, to you, our customer. Each year, we allow the Florida Department of Agriculture to test our fruits and have the test results to prove we have no harmful chemicals in our fruit.
“The Mango Factory” began in 1964, when the late Jack Flowerree “The Mango Man” purchased 25 acres of raw native land on Tropical Pine Island, Florida. For the next 40+ years, he “invested his life “clearing and contouring the land, preparing the soil, planting, transplanting, grafting, trimming the trees, nurturing, picking, processing, and marketing the fruit, through drought, floods, and hurricanes.
“The Mango Factory” continues today producing over 10 varieties of mangoes that are harvested generally between June and early September.
Jack decided long ago that the Mango was the biblical “Forbidden Fruit.” and not the apple… → Click here “The Mango Man“ (to read why).
Doug (Jack’s son) and his dog HooDoo, continue serving loyal customers, many of who have been coming for over 50 years.
Doug added Mail Order and Internet Sales to share the mangoes nationwide and 2022 will be his 15th season. Our delightful fruit will make a great gift to share with your friends and relatives across the country. Each year we ship to every state except California.
We have a dedicated and caring staff ready to assist you. They will make sure to handle your order with loving and professional care.
Try us…you will like us…I personally guarantee it and the fruit we sell!
